Holly Foundation, LI

The Holly Foundation, LI was created in memory of Holly Engel, a Miller Place and FIRST Long Island alumna who was passionate about innovation and dedicated to giving back to the robotics community.

Holly fought valiantly during her battle with cancer and left a lasting impact on the FIRST community. She volunteered each year at the FIRST Long Island Regional, and her dedication inspired us to honor her legacy by supporting teams financially, helping them fully participate in the opportunities they earn.

The foundation’s mission is to raise funds for Long Island teams that qualify for the postseason, ensuring that no team misses the chance to compete due to financial limitations.

To make this initiative as impactful as possible, we are inviting each Long Island team to contribute $100 toward the foundation, whether from team funds or through a recurring team sponsor. We are also encouraging anyone who wants to contribute to this cause to donate as well!

If all teams participate, we can collectively generate thousands of dollars each year to support our region’s champions and send them off to worlds with a lesser burden financially. The total amount raised will be evenly divided among Long Island teams that qualify for the postseason competitions through Long Island qualifying events.

Together, we can honor Holly’s legacy, celebrate her passion for innovation, and strengthen the entire Long Island FIRST community by ensuring that every team that earns a bid has the opportunity to attend.
